Adam Van Zelst

Adam Van Zelst enters his seventh season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Arcadia in 2025-26. 

Van Zelst has led the Knights to the 2023 MAC Freedom Championship, one of five conference tournament appearances and two championship game appearances during his tenure, in addition to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in 2023.

Van Zelst has mentored two D3hoops.com All-Region selections, two NABC All-District recipients, one All-ECAC honoree, and two City of Basketball Love All-Area selections. Van Zelst has coached two Conference Player Of the Year award winners, one conference Rookie of the Year, and 14 All-Conference selections during his tenure.

Prior to coming to Glenside, Van Zelst spent one year at Millersville where he helped lead the Marauders to their most wins -- and first home playoff game - since 2014. Van Zelst also spent eight years as an assistant at fellow MAC Commonwealth institution Albright College. Van Zelst was an NABC Under Armour 30-Under-30 honoree in 2017-18 which is an award recognizing up-and-coming young coaches in men's college basketball, helping Albright to a 20-7 record and an NCAA Tournament berth. While at Albright, Van Zelst developed eight All-MAC Commonwealth players including a pair of MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year winners with two athletes playing professionally. 

Van Zelst  earned a bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing from Albright in 2010. While with the Lions, Van Zelst was a four-year member of the men's basketball program, starting 53 consecutive games from 2008-10. As a team captain and senior in 2010, he helped his squad to a 21-6 record, a conference championship and a NCAA Tournament appearance. He ranks in the top 10 of the school's all-time assist leaders.
