Mike Fitzpatrick '14 completed his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Arcadia University in 2014-15, joining the staff after a four-year playing career for the Knights.Â
Fitzpatrick was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team at Arcadia and completed his bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in print media this past May. He was named to the NABC Honor Court in 2014, which recognizes student-athletes that are of junior or senior standing with a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA.
Â
A reserve for most of his career in a Knights’ uniform, Fitzpatrick was pressed into a starting role during the final 11 games of his senior season. He started in each of those 11 contests, averaging 6.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game to go with a team-best 44 assists.
Â
Fitzpatrick was rewarded for his efforts by being named a recipient of the Philadelphia Small College Coaches’ Sam Cozen Award, which is presented to local men's basketball players who excels both on and off the court.
