Barry Dear enters his third season as the Knights head golf coach in 2025-26.
During his first two seasons, Dear has coached four All-MAC Freedom men's selection, one men's Rookie of the Year, and one women's All-MAC honoree.
Dear comes to Arcadia following a three-year stint as a teaching professional at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club. In his time there, Dear taught individual and group lessons for both juniors and adults, managed the club's junior program, and coordinated and ran instruction and playing programs for adults and juniors.

Prior to arriving at Blue Heron Pines, Dear was the Director of Golf at Valleybrook Golf Club for two years. He has also served as a teaching professional for several other courses prior to arriving at Valleybrook.

Dear is a 1993 graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, graduating with a degree in Psychology. He was a four-year captain of their Division I golf team during his time with the Spartans.
