Joe Clementi '11 is entering his eighth season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach in 2025, and first as an Assistant Athletic Director after being elevated in April 2025.
Clementi led the team to the No. 1 seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament in 2021 with a 6-2 record in league play while mentoring his first All-Region selections in goalkeeper Jake Varrato (First Team) and forward Dan Titlemayer (Second Team), as well as mentoring Varrato to MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year honors and six All-MAC Freedom selections.
Clementi doubled his win total from the previous year in his second season, guiding the Knights to a 10-10-2 overall record with a 4-2-2 mark in conference matches. The Knights locked up the third seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament and hosted the first two rounds of the ECAC Tournament, defeating Wesley, 3-0, before falling to Kean in the quarterfinals, 1-0. At season's end, four Knights were named All-MAC Commonwealth selections, headlined by sophomore goalkeeper Jake Varrato's First Team honor.
In his first year at the helm of the Knights, Clementi led Arcadia to a 5-11-1 record and senior Ryan Hammer was named First Team All-MAC Commonwealth after posting 10 goals and adding three assists. Clementi, an Arcadia grad and former Knight, picked up his first win for his alma mater with a 1-0 win at King's in his second game patrolling the sidelines.
Clementi returned to Glenside after a four-year stint as the head men’s soccer coach/assistant athletic director for athletic facilities at Immaculata University. Over his four years with the Mighty Macs, Clementi coached 15 All-Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) honorees, while being named CSAC Coach of the Year in 2015. Clementi also holds the program record for career wins.
Clementi was a four-year letterwinner for the Scarlet & Grey and three-time team captain. A two-time All-MAC Commonwealth First Team selection, Clementi led the Knights to back-to-back MAC Commonwealth Conference Tournament appearances (2009 and 2010). He made 74 starts in 76 appearances and ended his career with 18 goals and nine assists for 45 points. He paced Arcadia in scoring during both his junior and senior seasons.
In the classroom, Clementi was a three-time MAC Honor Roll selection. He was also chosen to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Team for Region 2 as a third team selection for the College Division. Clementi was also honored on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team in 2009.
He was also named Arcadia University's Senior Male Athlete Most Valuable Player, which is awarded to the male athlete who has exhibited outstanding performance in his athletic career at Arcadia. He also received the MAC Commonwealth Conference Sportsmanship Award twice.
Prior to taking the head job for the Mighty Macs, Clementi served as an assistant coach for his predecessor, Rob Nydick. Clementi spent three years as an assistant at Arcadia before taking the head job at Immaculata.
Clementi is a 2011 graduate from Arcadia University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He went on to earn his master's degree in coaching and athletic administration in 2013 from Concordia University – Irvine. Clementi also holds a USSF National “B” License.
