Field Hockey Defeats Scranton for Second Straight Victory

Box Score Glenside, PA (October 18, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (12-4) won their second straight contest this afternoon, defeating the University of Scranton Royals (9-5), 5-2. All of the offense came in the second half as Taylor Dalisera scored twice. Jennie Kamel, Katrina Dull and Marilyn Beatty also scored for the Knights. Dull recorded three assists.

The first half went scoreless although Arcadia had the better of the play, recording four shots to Scranton's one. The Knights also had seven first half penalty corners, while the Royals had three.

Just under five minutes into the second half Kamel found the back of the cage as she put the ball in off an assist from Beatty. Dalisera then made it 2-0, converting on a penalty corner taken by Dull. Dull then scored her own goal off a rebound from a penalty corner shot. Beatty assisted on Dull's tally for a 3-0 lead at the 49:48 mark.

Scranton then made it interesting as they scored at 52:44 and 64:56 to make the score 3-2. Dalisera then scored an insurance tally at 68:59 off a corner by Dull for a 4-2 lead. Beatty capped the scoring after time expired off another penalty corner by Dull.

The Knights finished with 13 shots and 17 penalty corners. Scranton recorded four shots and six penalty corners. Mia De Plato got the win in goal for Arcadia, making one save.

Arcadia returns to conference play on Saturday as they travel to face Messiah in their Commonwealth Conference finale.
