Box Score Allentown, PA (November 17, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (1-1) bounced back this afternoon and came away with a 68-48 victory over the Drew University Rangers (0-2) in the consolation game of the Scotty Wood Tournament at Muhlenberg.
Khalief Trawick led all scorers with a 17-point performance for the Knights.
Arcadia and Drew played a close contest over the first five minutes and the score was tied at 7-7 with 14:41 to play in the first half. Arcadia then took the lead at 9-7 and would never relinquish it. They increased their advance to four points at 11-7 and then doubled it to eight points at 22-14. The eight point advantage is what the Knights took into the break, leading 28-20.
The Knights held the lead to begin the second half, going up by as many as 13 points. Arcadia led 47-37 at the 6:54 mark and then went on a 14-1 run to go up by 23 points at 61-38 and never looked back. Drew got to within 17 points late in the half, but could get no closer in the 20-point victory.
Trawick was 7-12 from the field with six rebonds and three steals.
Colin McCarthy added 12 points and four rebounds, while
Aaron Lee-Webb scored 10 points and had four boards. Drew was led by John Ford with 11 points.
Arcadia shot 48% from the field and held Drew to 33%. The Knights won the board battle 48-25, but committed 18 turnovers, while forcing just 15.
Arcadia will return to action on Tuesday night as they will host Drew is a rare back-to-back in Alumni Gymnasium. Tip-off is slated for 7pm.
