Knights Fall to Widener in Home Opener

GLENSIDE, Pa.:  Arcadia University dropped today's home opener at Easton Field against non-conference opponent Widener University by an 11-7 final.  First year Haylee Molloy scored three times to lead the Knights.

Arcadia junior Meghan Fallon opened the scoring with the first of her two goals on the afternoon, however, the Pride were right there with the equalizer and go-ahead and remained in front for the remainder of the contest.

After posting a 7-5 lead at the half, Widener came out and out-scored the Knights 4-2 in the second half.

In addition to scoring by Molloy and Fallon, first year Jaclyn Feffer scored two goals to go along 8 ground balls and 6 draw controls, both Arcadia team-highs.  Junior keeper Amalie Kreitman played the full 60 minutes and registered 6 saves in net.

Widener got five goals from Rachel Porter, two apeice from Jen Harnden and Laura Kalbach while Julia Costello and Melissa Sailey each scored once.  First year keeper Megan Dunn registered 12 saves in net in her first win of the season.

The Knights will take a 16 day lay-off until they host non-conference Bryn Mawr College at home on March 20.
