Women's Lacrosse Picks Up First Win at Bryn Mawr

Box Score Bryn Mawr, PA (March 19, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (1-3) picked up their first win of the season this afternoon, 18-3 over Bryn Mawr College (2-3). Arcadia exploded for 14 goals in first half, including 13 in a row to take the big lead and never looked back. Dawn Faranetta and Meghan Fallon each scored four goals for the Knights.

Faranetta opened the scoring just 28-seconds into the match off a pass from Meghan Fallon. Bryn Mawr tied the match 12-seconds later, but then the flood gates opened for the Knights offense. Faranetta returned the favor as she found Fallon at 27:50. Haylee Molloy, Fallon and Faranetta then each scored unassisted goals for a 5-1 lead at the 20:30 mark.

Mindy Hair then scored from Kathleen Finnegan at 19:45. Faranetta then scored two more, one from Fallon and one for Molloy for a 9-1 lead at 14:12. At 13:18, Abbie Brewster got on the board off an assist from Faranetta. Brewster then found Fallon and followed that up by scoring an unassisted goal for a 12-1 lead. Jenna Crothers ended the first half scoring with a pair of goals in the final nine minutes for a 14-1 halftime lead.

At 23:22 of the second half, Adeline Bellesheim scored from Molloy for a 15-1 score. Faranetta then found Samantha Sidoriak for a 16-1 lead. Bryn Mawr scored the next two goals, making the score 16-3 at the 12:43 mark. Sidoriak then scored from Rachel Chan and Kaitlin Barry scored an unassisted gaol to make the final 18-3.

Arcadia outshot Bryn Mawr 33-18, but lost the draw control battle, 13-10. Deanna Thompson and Jordyn Dunacusky split the goal keeping duties today and each made five saves.

Arcadia will return to action on Thursday night when they host Penn State Abington for a 7pm face-off on Easton Field. If you can't make it out to the game you can watch live on the internet at www.mac.ezstream.com.
