Box Score Cheltenham, PA (March 2, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (1-2) dropped the first game of a doubleheader against Delaware Valley College (1-0), 5-4 this afternoon. The Knights trailed 4-0 early, then tied the game, but a single run in the sixth by the Aggies gave a 5-4 which they would hold on to. Mike Nessel went 1-3 with three RBI for the Knights.

The Knights quickly fell behind 4-0 as they allowed three unearned runs in the first and one run in the second. Arcadia got back in the game in the bottom of the second as they plated three on a three-run triple by Nessel. The Knights then tied the game in the third on an RBI triple by Brandon Martin, sending the game to the fourth tied at four.

The game remained tied until the top of the sixth when Delaware Valley scored a two-out run to take a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the sixth. That run would be the difference in the game.

The Knight did not have a player with more than one hit and as a group they struck out 14 times. Jonah van Bemmelen got the loss in relief.

Arcadia will play two shortly against Delaware Valley shorty.
