Women's Lacrosse Falls At Widener in Non-Conference Match

Box Score Chester, PA (March 2, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (0-2) dropped their first road match of the season this afternoon, falling at the Widener University Pride (1-0), 16-10. Widener scored eight goals in each half. The Knights tried to recover from early deficit, but could not. Haylee Molloy scored four times, while Dawn Faranetta scored three times.

Arcadia got on the board first as Jacklyn Feffer scored at the 24:09 mark. Widener then scored the next three goals for a 3-1 lead at the 19:13 mark. Arcadia got to within one as Faranetta scored at the 17:10 mark. Widener scored the next five goals for an 8-2 lead with 10:14 to play in the first half. Faranetta scored her second at the 1:12 mark, sending the game into the break with Arcadia trailing 8-3.

Widener scored just over two minutes into the second half to make the score 9-3, but Faranetta then scored her third just 23-seconds later to make the score 9-4. Jenna Crothers then scored at 22:27 to make the score 9-5. Widener scored the next two and led 11-5 with 20:44 left to play.

Molloy scored her first 30-seconds later to make the score 11-6. Widener countered at 17:09, but the Knights scored the next two as Molloy scored on a free position and then scored unassisted to make the score 12-8 at the 10:10 mark. The Pride then scored two of their own for a 14-8 lead. The teams then traded goals the rest of the way as Feffer and Molloy scored for the Knights to make the final 16-10.

Arcadia will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to face Albright for a 7pm face-off.
