Box Score Glenside, PA (April 17, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (10-3, 3-1 MFRE) won their seventh straight home match and second in a row overall, defeating the Manhattanville College Valiants (3-10, 2-1 MFRE), 21-9 tonight. The Knights have won 10 out of 11 and have now guaranteed at least a .500 record in conference play. Arcadia reached a new high in goals in a game with their 21 tallies.
Haylee Molloy scored seven times to lead the Knights.
Catherine Brown got the Knights on the board first as she scored from
Meghan Fallon at 27:24.
Dawn Faranetta then gave Arcadia a 2-0 lead with 24:23 to play in the first half. Manhattanville then scored two in a row to tie the game at 20:12.
Jenna Crothers gave Arcadia the lead back at 19:26. Molloy then gave the Knights their two goal lead back, scoring from Faranetta at 18:19.
Jaclyn Feffer then scored on a free position shot for a 5-2 lead at 16:31. The Valiants scored to cut it to 5-3, but Feffer scored at 14:27 for a 6-3 advantage.
Feffer then recorded the natural hat trick as she took the ball from the defensive zone and sprinted all the way down to the goal and scored with 11:18 to play in the first half for a 7-3 Arcadia lead. Fallon then scored on a free position shot at 10:32 to extend the lead to 8-3. Molloy added the Knights' ninth goal as she scored on a free position shot a 6:21. Manhattanville made it 9-4 as they scored on a free position shot at 5:10. Feffer added her fourth of the game at 4:37 for a 10-4 lead. Molloy made it 11-4 scoring on a fast break from Crothers. The Valiants made it 11-5 at 45-seconds, but Faranetta scored with just four seconds remaining to make the halftime score 12-5.
Faranetta quickly put the Knights up by eight scoring at 28:57 from Crothers. The Valiants made it 13-6 at 24:15, Brown scored from Fallon at 23:20 to make the score 14-6. Manhattanville made it 14-7 at 22:36, but Molloy scored on a free position shot at 21:55 to get the advantage back to eight. Fallon then gave the Knights their largest advantage at nine, scoring at 19:29. Faranetta made it 17-7 at 16:54 scoring an unassisted tally.
At 14:36 Molloy scored her fifth from Fallon to make it 18-7. At 12:22 the Valiants made it 18-8, but Molloy scored again at 9:32 on a free position goal for a 19-8 lead. Molloy gave the Knights their 20th goal at 4:08, it was her sixth of the game.
Adeline Bellesheim scored the final goal of the match for Arcadia from Crothers to make the final 21-9.
Feffer and Faranetta each scored four times and Faranetta added an assist. Brown and Fallon scored twice and Fallon also had three assists.
Jordyn Dunacusky got the win, making nine saves in goal for Arcadia.
Arcadia will have the weekend off and then return to action next Tuesday as they host Eastern for a 7pm face-off on Easton Field.
