Women's Lacrosse Wins Seventh Straight Taking Conference Opener from King's

Box Score Glenside, PA (April 6, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (7-3, 1-0 MFRE) won their seventh straight match and first in conference play their afternoon, 18-11 over the King's College Monarchs (3-7, 0-1). Arcadia led 7-4 at the break and outscored the Monarch 4-3 in the second half. Haylee Molloy scored seven times and assisted on two more to lead the Knights.

Meghan Fallon started the scoring for Arcadia at 28:58 from Haylee Molloy. King's tied the game, but Dawn Faranetta made it 2-1 at 22:07. The Monarchs then scored twice to take a 3-2 lead, but Molloy and Faranetta gave Arcadia the lead right back at 4-3 with 15:49 to play in the first half. King's tied the match at 4-4, but the Knights then scored seven unanswered goals. Faranetta scored from Crothers to make it 5-4 and Katie Bauer made it 6-4 off a feed from Fallon. Faranetta, Fallon and Molloy then each scored an unassisted goal for a 9-4 lead. Molloy scored again from Faranetta and then scored unassisted for an 11-4 lead. King's scored the final three goals of the half and the sore was 11-7 at the break.

Molloy scored twice and Jaclyn Feffer once to start the second half for a 14-7 lead. King's scored twice to make it 14-9 at the 21:00 mark. Jenna Crothers scored unassisted and Catherine Brown scored from Molloy to make the score 16-9. King's made it 16-10, but Molloy made it 17-10 at 13:19. The Monarchs scored for a 17-11 game, but Faranetta scored at 6:30 to make the final 18-11.

Arcadia oushot King's 36-23, but the Monarchs won 15 of the 29 draws. Faranetta had five goals and an assist, while Fallon had two goals and an assist.

Arcadia will head to Lycoming on Monday for a non-conference match.
