Box Score Williamsport, PA (April 8, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (8-3) scored three unanswered goals late in the second half and came away with a 17-15 win at the Lycoming College Warriors (3-8). The score was tied at 14 with just over eight minutes to play, but the Knights then scored twice in just over a minute and added another with under a minute to play to get their eighth straight win.
Haylee Molloy scored two of those three and had four goals and two assists total.
Lycoming scored first at 26:34, but Arcadia scored the next two as
Meghan Fallon and
Catherine Brown scored for a 2-1 lead. Lycoming tied the game and then
Dawn Faranetta scored for a 3-2 Knights lead. The Warriors again tied the game, but Molloy and Faranetta both scored for a 5-3 lead with 9:00 to play in the first half. Lycoming then scored four unanswered goals to take a 7-5 lead at the 4:33 mark. Arcadia scored the final two goals of the half as Fallon and Faranetta scored and the game went into the break tied at seven.
The teams traded three goal spurts as Lycoming took an 8-7 lead and then Faranetta scored twice and Molloy scored to tie the game at 10. The Warriors scored twice to make it 12-10, but Arcadia scored four straight as Fallon scored twice,
Jenna Crothers scored and Molloy scored for a 14-12 lead with 12:49 to play. Lycoming tied it at 14 with 11:13 to play, but Faranetts scored from Crothers at 8:19, Molloy scored from Faranetta at 7:28 and Molloy scored from Crothers at :37-seconds for a 17-14 Arcadia lead. Lycoming scored as the clock wound down to make the final 17-15.
Faranetta scored six times and had three assists for nine points and Fallon had five goals. Arcadia outshot Lycoming 35-24, but won just 13 of the 34 draws. The Knights were also 14-18 on clear attempts.
Arcadia will stay on the road on Wednesday as they travel to face FDU-Florham.
