GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened a tri-match at Gwynedd Mercy University with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-19, 25-15) victory over the host Griffins Saturday to improve its record to 11-5 for the season.
Sophomore right side/opposite hitter
Makenna Micklus hit .393 with a match-high 13 kills and two errors on 28 swings to lead the Knights to the win. Junior middle hitter
Christina Karnavas and freshman middle hitter
Colleen Stengel added five kills each with no errors in the match while hitting .625 and .833, respectively. Karnavas also had five digs and two aces in the match.
Sophomore setter
Alexia Bell handed out a match-high 26 assists with seven digs while adding four kills. Freshman libero
Sami Evans had a match-high 21 digs.
Junior outside hitter Lauren Tressel had four kills with 12 digs for Gwynedd Mercy. Freshman middle hitter Jessica Behr hit .500 with four kills and one error in six attempts.
Arcadia will next take on Keystone College in the tri-match at Gwynedd Mercy at 1 p.m.
