Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team posted a 15-11 non-conference victory over visiting Widener University Saturday afternoon at Easton Field, and in doing so improved to 3-0 for the year. This was the first game of the season for the Pride.
Junior attack/midfielder Megan Granata (Broomall, Pa.) opened the scoring for Widener just over three minutes into the game before freshman midfielder
Erin Misner (Westhampton, N.J.) started a four-goal run for the Knights that game them a 4-1 lead 12 minutes in. The Pride answered by scoring six of the next seven goals, all by a different goal scorer, to take a 7-5 lead at the half.
Junior attack
Haylee Molloy (Holtsville, N.Y.) scored three straight over the first eight and a half minutes of the second half to give Arcadia an 8-7 lead, scoring 2:30 into the second half before netting a pair of goals in 35 seconds to cap the run. The Knights never trailed in the game again from there.

Dawn Faranetta (Randolph, N.J.) scored her fourth goal of the game to put Arcadia ahead for good with 10:09 to go, starting a 4-0 run for the Knights to close the game. Senior attack
Jenna Crothers (Patchogue, N.Y.) followed with back-to-back goals and Misner capped off the scoring with 1:59 left in the game.
Molloy scored a game-high five goals for the Knights, while Faranetta finished with four goals and one assist. Crothers added three goals with a pair of assists, and Misner finished with three goals, one assist and four draw controls. Sophomore goalie
Jordyn Dunacusky (Conshohocken, Pa.) improved her record to 3-0 after tallying a career-high 15 saves.
Junior attack Pinky Schneider (Morristown. N.J.) scored two goals with three assists for the Pride, while Granata and sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Muller (Aston, Pa.) both finished with two goals and one assist. Junior goalie Megan Dunn (Oxford, Pa.) finished with just two saves in taking the loss in net.
The Knights pulled out the win despite being outshot 37-23 in the game, which included a 26-17 advantage in shots on goal for Widener. Arcadia had a 15-13 advantage in draw controls, while the Pride had a 14-13 edge in ground balls. The Knights were 3-for-5 on free position attempts, while Widener was just 1-for-9.
Arcadia will look for its fourth straight win Thursday when it hosts a 4 p.m. non-conference game against Albright College at Easton Field.
