GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team dropped a 9-0 MAC Commonwealth match at No. 1 ranked Messiah College Saturday, dropping its record to 4-12 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Falcons improved to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in the MAC Commonwealth with the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Carissa Gehman scored the first two goals of the game in the opening 15 minutes, and that proved to be all the offense the Falcons would need. She finished the match with three goals and one assist, while Kezia Loht also had a multi-goal effort after finding the back of the cage two times.
IN GOAL: Shelby Landes earned the win in goal for the Falcons, while senior
Brittany Hodson took the loss for the Knights after allowing four goals and making five saves over the opening 23:37. Freshman
Anne Becker allowed five goals and had two stops over the final 46:33.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Messiah took all 313 shots in the match, and accounted for 22 of the 23 penalty corners in the contest.
