GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team defeated the visiting Lebanon Valley Dutchmen 3-0 Tuesday night to move 12-0 on the season and 2-0 in MAC Commonwealth play. Junior
Kayla Haberbosch and sophomore
Mia Bertolami led the way for the Knights, as the former found the back of the net twice and the latter once.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Haberbosch gave Arcadia a much needed momentum swing in the 24th minute, as she took a feed from classmate
Jess Kelly from the left side of the six-yard box and beat the keeper to the right side. Just under four minutes later, Bertolami found a loose ball near the top of the 18 which she fired past the keeper for a 2-0 Arcadia lead. Haberbosch added her second goal of the night, and team-best 10th goal of the season, under two minutes into the second half. A through ball from Kelly set Haberbosch up with a one-on-one situation in which the Haberbosch beat the defender across the top of the box and scored over the keepers leaping arms.
WIN STREAKS: The Knights are on a program-best 14-game winning streak dating back to last season. This also marks Arcadia's third straight shutout of Lebanon Valley after claiming a 3-0 win in the regular season and a 2-0 win to take the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship last season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights held a 13-4 advantage in total shots, including 5-3 in shots on goal. Corners were few and far between as the visitors took three and the hosts one. Arcadia was called offsides three times.
IN GOAL: Freshman
Taelor Rivera made three saves as she moved to 11-0 on the year. Taylor Reinhold dropped to 6-4 for the Dutchmen after making two saves.
UP NEXT: The Knights return to action Saturday afternoon when they continue MAC Commonwealth play against Hood at 2:30.
