Offense Erupts as Women’s Lacrosse Cruises to 21-6 Win at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team took control of the game with an 11-goal first half run and never looked back as it registered a 21-6 non-conference victory at Immaculata University Thursday. The Knights improved to 4-3 for the season, while the Mighty Macs fell to 4-5.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Rosemarie Reitman scored just 32 seconds into the game to give Immaculata its only lead of the contest. Sophomore Allegra Benites tied the game just over a minute later to start an 11-goal surge for Arcadia that gave it the lead for good, and junior Samantha Diaz scored what proved to be the game-winner with 18:27 left in the opening half. Sophomore Nicole Hutson capped that run with 11:06 left in the first half, which was followed by a goal from Brittany Whaley two minutes later. The Knights scored each of the next three goals to take a 14-2 lead at halftime.
 
IN GOAL: Senior Jordyn Dunacusky improved her record to 4-4 after allowing two goals and making two saves in the first half for Arcadia, while junior Brittany Hodson totaled four goals against and four saves in the second. Nicole Dominick had just two saves in the game in her collegiate debut in goal.
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Senior Dawn Faranetta and junior Erin Misner scored three goals with two assists each for the Knights, while Benites, senior Jessica Santoli and sophomore Marie Brockman also scored three goals each. Benites added an assist, giving her a four-point game, which was matched by Diaz who finished with two goals and two assists.
 
IMMACULATA LEADERS: Reitman and Hannah Verrecchia scored two goals each for the Mighty Macs, who also saw Shannon Neill and Whaley find the back of the net one time each.
