BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's tennis team hit the road Wednesday afternoon, falling 9-0 at Bryn Mawr.
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights sit at 2-1 in the fall season, while the Owls own a 2-1 record.
DOUBLES ACTION: The freshman duo of
Tess Weber and
Laryssa Badulak dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 1 to Lizzie Siegle and Hannah Sherman. Sophomore
Maeghan Myers teamed with freshman
Emily Cruz-Pineda in the second flight, falling 8-1 to Sydney Kim and Christina Xue 8-1. At third doubles, sophomore
Sarah Aschemeier and freshman
Isabella Fontanella fell 8-3 to Abbygail Brewster and Franchesca Caramazza.
SINGLES PLAY: Weber played first singles for the first time in her young career, dropping a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Sherman. Badulak was downed 6-0, 6-1 by Siegle in the second flight, while Myers fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 to Mariam Haider. In her singles debut, Cruz-Pineda played Kim, falling 6-2, 6-0. Fontanella dropped a 6-1, 6-3 match to Jennifer Laske at No. 5, as Aschemeier fell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 to Xue.
