CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team used a late three-goal run to take the lead for good in its 14-13 MAC Commonwealth victory at Widener University Tuesday night.
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights improved to 6-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play with their first league victory of the season, while also snapping a five-game losing skid. The Pride fell to 3-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play with their sixth straight loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Widener led 7-3 following Jamie Parent's goal with 5:21 left in the first half before junior
Allegra Benites started a five-goal Arcadia run that was capped by freshman
Victoria Mollitor's tally seven minutes into the second half. Kristi Rohrer started a three-goal surge for the Pride just 40 seconds later that that gave Widener a 10-8 lead midway through the second half, only to see Arcadia score six of the next eight goals to go regain the lead for good.

Nicole Hutson scored the go-ahead tally 38 seconds later that was setup by Benites, who then set up what would be the game-winner from senior
Erin Misner with 2:49 to go. Kaylee Horchak brought the Pride back within one with 1:48 on the clock for the 14-13 final.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Benites finished the game with three goals, two assists and two draw controls, while Misner totaled three goals, one assist and a game-high six draw controls. Imbert added two goals, two assists and two ground balls, while freshman
Shannon Ryan registered two goals with one assist and two draw controls. Hutson and Mollitor finished with two goals each, while freshman
Caroline Toner scooped up a game-high five ground balls.
WIDENER LEADERS: Kelly Lynch had a hand in nine of the Pride's 13 goals, finishing the game with four goals and five assists. Melanie Bert had a three-goal game, while Meg Steffney had a pair of goals.
IN GOAL: Junior
Liz Stierle picked up the win in goal after allowing six goals with six saves after entering the match with 5:21 left in the first half, improving her record to 6-5. Grace Morales went the distance for Widener, totaling eight stops.
