GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia women's soccer team cruised to a 4-1 win over Hood on Saturday at Jean Lenox West and Delran Pavilion.
The Knights won their fifth consecutive game and improved to 10-2-2 overall on the season and 5-0 in MACC play. Hood falls to 3-10 and 0-5 in conference play with the loss.
It took Arcadia just five minutes to get on the board.
Veronica Garcia scored in the 5th minute, giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.
Arcadia extended its lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute, when
Amanda McHugh beat Blazers keeper Rachel Knobel, giving Arcadia a two-goal advantage.
The Knights took their two-goal lead into the second half. In the 73rd minute,
Sarah Walsh beat Knobel one-on-one, giving Arcadia the 3-0 lead.
Mackenzie Hoffman added the Knights' fourth goal of the contest in the 79th minute, giving Arcadia the 4-0 advantage.
Hood avoided the shut out late, when Michaela Lauterbach scored with an assist from Elisa Botten, making the score 4-1, which stood as the final.
IN GOAL: Brianna Williams played 81:12 for the Knights, making one save.
Gabby Green came on in relief, stopping one save and allowing one goal.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Knights allowed just three shots on goal in the win, making this the sixth time Arcadia has allowed three shots on goal or less this season … The Scarlet and Grey tallied 25 shots on goal, its second highest shot output of the season … The Knights had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks in the match.
