GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Arcadia women's soccer team's five-game win streak was snapped after falling 1-0 to Rowan on Tuesday evening.
The Knights fall to 10-3-2 on the season, while Rowan improves to 11-1-2.
After a scoreless first half, Arcadia tried to find the game's first goal in the 79th minute, when
Emily Readinger fired a shot that was saved by Rowan keeper Shelby Money, keeping the contest scoreless.
Rowan scored what turned out to be the lone goal of the contest in the 85th minute. Daria Jones took a feed Sarah Rosenberg down the right side and was able to slide a shot past
Brianna Williams, giving the Profs a 1-0 lead.
Arcadia was unable to tie the contest in the final minutes, resulting in the defeat.
IN GOAL: Williams played all 90 minutes in goal for the Knights, making four saves. Money made seven stops in net for the Profs.
BY THE NUMBERS: This is just the third time the Knights have been shut out this season, and the first time the Scarlet & Grey have been shut out since Sept. 26 … Arcadia out shot the Profs in the contest, totaling 16 with seven on goal, while Rowan had 11 with five on goal ...
Mackenzie Hoffman paced the Knights with three shots (two on goal)… The Knights had five corner kicks in the game, while Rowan did not have a corner kick opportunity ... This is the first time this season that Arcadia did not allow a corner kick.
