Men’s Tennis Picks Up 6-3 Win Over Marietta to Open Spring Break

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Arcadia men's tennis team open its spring break competition by besting Marietta 6-3.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights improved to 3-1 on the season.
  • The Pioneers fell to 1-3.
DOUBLES PLAY:
  • Sophomore Nick Simeone and junior Jaime Zeng Zhu teamed up to best Jack Hirschfield and Shane Spencer 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
  • In the second flight sophomore Drake Hanak and junior John Zinzer defeated Bryce Emerick and Will Watson 8-4.
  • Arcadia led 2-1 following doubles play.
SINGLES PLAY:
  • Simeone bested Spencer 7-5, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
  • Hanak won the first set in the second singles match, before falling 4-6, 6-4, 10-4.
  • Zeng Zhu picked up a 7-5, 6-4 win over Watson in the third flight.
  • Zinzer posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Emerick at No. 4.
  • Junior Alex Post defeated Brandon DeCicco 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5.

  • Arcadia returns to the courts tomorrow, when it takes on Shepherd at noon.
