Men’s Tennis Challenge Division II Shepherd in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Arcadia men's tennis team continued its spring break trip in Hilton Head against NCAA Division II Shepherd, falling 7-2.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights fell to 3-2 on the year.
  • The Rams moved to 3-4.
WINNERS:
  • The double pair of sophomore Drake Hanak and Junior John Zinzer battled to a 9-8 (7-5) win at second doubles over Clay Smith and Kaleb Lochner.
  • In singles play, junior Jaime Zeng Zhu dropped Lochner 6-2, 6-3 in the third flight.
CLOSE CALLS:
  • Hanak took three games in the first set and two in the second set of the No. 2 singles match against Evan Dokken.
  • After dropping the first set, Zinzer forced a tiebreak at No. 4 singles by taking set two 6-1 against Lewis Charette; he would fall in the tiebreak.
UP NEXT:
  • The Scarlet and Grey return to the court Thursday afternoon when it takes on Thomas. First serve is slated for 4:15 p.m.
