WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Arcadia men's swimming team broke two pool records in a sweep of King's and Messiah in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon. The Knights defeated Messiah 172-85 and King's 145-117.
TJ Dalton broke the pool record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:13.61, which was good for a first place finish. Dalton was first in two other events on the day, the 200 yard IM and the 200-yard freestyle. Dalton posted a time of 2:01.83 in the 200-yard IM and a time of 1:48.21 in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Knights also set a pool record in the 400 yard freestyle relay. The relay team of

Michael Melissen,
A.J. Cawley and
Mark Preedy finished the event with a time of 3:20.28, which was also good for first place.
Andrew Givone picked up two first place finishes and one third place finish for AU. Givone won the 100-yard butterfly (55.59) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.02). He finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.15).
Melissen had two second place finishes in the event. He finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:35.13) and the 100 yard butterfly (55.76).
Preedy finished in the top-three in three individual events in the meet for the Knights. Preedy was first in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:01.20. Preedy was also second in the 100 yard freestyle (49.63) and third in the 200 yard IM (2:04.39).
Highet had two second place finishes and one third place finish. He finished second in the 200-yard back (2:04.37) and the 50-yard free (22.44). His third place finish was in the 100-yard back, touching the wall in 57.50.
Austin Lauer and
Joe Pedisich also had top-three finished for AU in the meet. Lauer was second in the 200-yard fly (2:09.02) and Pedisich was third in the 200-yard free, finishing with a time of 2:10.46.
Colin Naturale finished fourth in the 100=yard breast, finishing with a time of 1:09.48
In all, the Knights had 19 top-three finishes in the event.
Arcadia is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 19, when the Knights host Widener on senior day. The dual meet is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
