GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's basketball team kept its postseason hopes alive Wednesday night with a resounding victory over visiting Alvernia in MAC Commonwealth action, defeating the Golden Wolves, 69-38. The Knights finished the night with a trio of players scoring in double-figures, as
Taylor Dunn led the team with 12 while
Julia Makowski and
Sidney Barrer added 11 and 10, respectively.
Sydney Cyr had a game-high nine assists in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-After taking a six-point lead into the second quarter, the Knights ended the first half on a 12-2 run over the final five minutes of the second, as
Taylor Fritz logged four points on a pair of jumpers and Cyr buried a three - one of two on the night for the senior. The run resulted in a 12-point lead at the half for the Knights, 28-16, as Alvernia was held to 4-of-11 from the field.
-The Knights opened the second half with a 15-6 run to extend their lead to a robust 21 points behind six points from Makowski on a trio of jumpers, as the sophomore netted eight of her 11 points in the period.
-Arcadia continued to pour it on in the final ten minutes of regulation, this time opening the quarter on a 17-0 run as Dunn and
Haley Still each drilled a pair of threes.
Olivia Wyckoff and
Courtney Hoffman each contributed a pair of points in the final quarter, leading the Knights to the 31-point victory.

-Arcadia had 21 of its points come off the bench, led by six each from Manzo and Still.
