GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University field hockey team handed Stevens Institute of Technology its first conference loss with a 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon. After allowing a goal early in the second quarter, the Knights responded with two unanswered scores from Regan Sammons and Mickie March as they held the Ducks scoreless for the entire second half. 

The Knights honored seniors March, Autumn Gahman, Carly Flickinger and Catherine Bergmueller before the start of this afternoon's contest for Senior Appreciation Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights were outshot 3-1 in the opening quarter, but kept Stevens off the board. Gracie Fenner made one save, while Gahman had the Knights lone shot attempt blocked.

- The Ducks tallied the game's first goal in the 23rd minute of play to take a 1-0 lead. Moments later, the Knights responded with a couple corner attempts and a shot on goal, but were unable to find the equalizer heading into halftime.

- Sammons connected on the game-tying goal early in the second half for her seventh tally of the season. After the Knights offense created heavy traffic in front of the cage, the junior was able to get her stick on the loose ball and flicked a shot over the Ducks goalie. Arcadia controlled possession for most of the quarter - outshooting Stevens 6-2.

- March put the Knights ahead with the game-winning tally in the 49th minute of regulation. After the Knights created pressure in front of the cage, March poked the ball away from a defender inside the box and elevated a goal over the goalie's stick.
