Third Quarter Slide the Difference for Women's Lacrosse at DeSales
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - A 6-0 slide through the middle of the game proved to be the difference as the Arcadia University women's lacrosse team fell by a 12-7 final at DeSales University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Wednesday evening.
The Knights fell to 4-1 in league play and 7-7 overall.
DeSales scored the first two goals before
Ashley Starkey got Arcadia on the board. After the Bulldogs pulled ahead 4-1,
Skylar Acker scored unassisted and
Morganne Dee notched a tally assisted by
Sarah Morris making the score 4-3 with 5:34 left in the second quarter.
DeSales finished the first half scoring, and then put in the first five goals of the second half reaching a 10-3 lead.
Dee registered three consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 10-6 with 4:44 left in game, but the Bulldogs outscored Arcadia 2-1 the rest of the way to reach the final.
Emily Griffith made 10 saves in net for the Knights.
Dee led the offense with four goals while Starkey and Morris registered two points each.
Arcadia returns to action on Wednesday when it will host FDU-Florham for a 7:00 p.m. MAC Freedom game.
