Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Delaware Valley for Fifth Straight Win

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team won its fifth consecutive game as it beat Delaware Valley, 22-5, on Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.  

With the win, the Knights improved to 7-6 overall and 4-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play.  

10 different Knights found the back of the net in the win, led by Ashley Starkey who scored five times. Morganne Dee and Gianna Dinofa each recorded a hat trick, finding the back of the net three times.  

Both Dinofa and Emily Ruggiero scored the first goals of their college careers in the win.  

Emily Griffith and Mariya Occorso each had action between the pipes for the Knights. Both goalies made one save in the game.  

ARCADIA 22, DELAWARE VALLEY 5 
HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Knights scored the first 10 goals of the game and ended the first quarter with a 10-0 lead. Maddie Ruger, Dee (2), Skyler Acker (2), Olivia Poley and Starkey (4) all hit the back of the net in the opening quarter.  

  • The Aggies scored the first goal of the second quarter but the Knights answered with four straight through scores by Starkey, Dinofa, Ruger and Tessa O'Donnell. Delaware Valley scored three straight to end the quarter, cutting Arcadia's lead to 14-4.  

  • Arcadia outscored the Aggies, 5-1 in the third quarter. Sarah Morris, Giovanna Raspanti, Dee, Dinofa and Poley had scores for the Knights.  

  • Morris, Dinofa and Ruggiero scored in the fourth quarter to close out the victory for Arcadia.
