Box Score READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team was outscored 12-5 in the second half as it dropped an 18-11 non-conference contest at Alvernia University Saturday. The Crusaders improved to 4-3 with the win, while the Knights fell to 7-1 with the loss.
Sophomore
Dawn Faranetta (Randolph, N.J.) scored twice in the first two and a hyalf minutes to give Arcadia an early 2-0 lead before and six-goal Alvernia run put the Crusaders up 6-2 with 14 minutes to go in the opening frame. The Knights responded with a four goals run to close the first half and knot the score at six at the break. Freshman
Erin Misner (Westhampton, N.J.) scored back-to-back goals in the final four minutes of the frame to tie it up.
Arcadia scored two of the first three goals in the second half before Alvernia went on a seven-goal run to take the lead for good.
Faranetta and junior
Haylee Molloy (Holtville, N.Y.) scored three goals each to lead the Knights, while junior
Jaclyn Feffer (Montgomery, N.Y.) and Misner added two goals each. Freshman
Brittany Hodson (Hughesville, Md.) had eight saves in taking the loss in net.
Freshman Brooke Campione (Oakdale, N.Y.) scored a game-high seven goals to lead the Crusaders, while junior Candace Knight (Darlington, Md.) scored four times. Sophomore Colleen Reilly (Medford, N.J.) made seven saves to earn the win in goal.
Arcadia was outshot 27-13 in the second half and 39-23 in the game. Alvernia had an 18-12 advantage in ground balls and a 16-15 edge in draw controls.
The Knights will return to Easton Field Tuesday to host a non-conference game against Kean at 4 p.m.
