Bea Markwick played both field hockey and lacrosse for four years, and graduated cum laude. As a coach, her athletic accomplishments are substantial. She won her, first field hockey championship in 1958 at Collingswood High School. Bea coached the first of four undefeated field hockey teams in 1963, and eventually coached a total of 16 field hockey championships and 10 lacrosse championships, including four lacrosse state titles. She started women's lacrosse at Collingswood and founded the Delaware Valley Lacrosse League. Described by classmates, colleagues and players as very intelligent, caring and understanding, she made a difference to generations of women.
