Cynthia McKelvy Mattson was four-year member of the field hockey, women' basketball and women's lacrosse teams. She was the captain of the field hockey team as a senior and the captain of the women's lacrosse team her junior and senior years. Mattson was also the secretary and president of the Athletic Association. She played on the Philadelphia Women's Lacrosse team for three years. During Mattson's senior season, her women's lacrosse team went undefeated and she was named a member of the US All-American Lacrosse Team in 1952. In 1953, she was named to the US All-American Lacrosse Reserve Team. Mattson taught at the Hillview Nursery School for 45 years and also served as the director of the school.
